Liv Tyler says the best part of filming her latest indie movie was having “big, amazing hair”. The actress has just finished shooting the indie film Jamie Marks Is Dead which is directed by fashion photographer Carter Smith. She says the best part of making the movie was her costume and make-up, which made her feel like American actress Tawny Kitaen in the ’80s hard rock videos she filmed for the band Whitesnake. “It looks beautiful but it’s a weird movie. I had long fake pink nails and a kind of grown-out perm,” Liv laughed to WWD. “It was so fun to have big, amazing curly hair. I was channelling Tawny Kitaen, Whitesnake video moves.”
Liv spoke while at the Cannes Film Festival, where she attended a string of events looking stylish and chic. On Friday Liv attended a special promotional event for her new campaign with Magnum ice cream. The star wore a summery floral dress and black sandals to unveil the short film she collaborated on with German director Wim Wenders based around the Magnum 5Kisses range.

Former model Buell was discovered as a teenager (and later appeared in a 1974 issue of Playboy), as was her daughter, now-35-year-old Tyler, who hit it big in Mademoiselle at just 15. “It happened sort of naturally,” Tyler, whose dad is rocker Steven, said of taking up modeling, “since I’ve been around this all my life.”
