Liv Tyler has revealed that she has only just started to feel strong enough to return to work, after three years as a stay-at-home mum .

The ‘Lord Of The Rings’ star stepped away from the limelight to recover from her split with husband Royston Langdon, father of her son Milo, six.

“In the past couple years I have gone through quite a lot personally. Becoming a mother, having a child, getting divorced, all of those things. I was trying to deal with those things in my life. But then, I just felt ready to go back to work,” the Mirror quoted Liv as saying.

“Every day is a new beginning to me. The truth is that it takes a long time, but you do kind of wake up one day and you just feel a little tiny bit better,” she added.

News  •  By  •  Comments Off on Liv Tyler: `My mum warned me about men`

Liv Tyler has revealed that her mum warned her to watch out for the lines that men spin.

As the daughter of former Playboy model Bebe Buell and Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler, she said that she grew up surrounded by opportunities to meet men at parties.

But the 33-year-old Lord Of The Rings actress explained to The Sun that her mum had some words of wisdom for her when it came to members of the opposite sex.

‘My mum taught me to watch out for men. Be careful when they tell you things. She was never a man basher. She just wanted me to be aware of what may be said and done,’ she said.

‘My mum was my manager for a time and was very careful about who I went with and who I met. I’m an old fashioned woman. I didn’t go to parties and get off with men. I spent my money on furniture rather than on nights out.’

She added that her mother was often misunderstood. ‘My mum had a reputation which was simply untrue,’ she explained. ‘She was often described as a rock groupie but in fact she is a very moral person who is in love with music.’

News  •  By  •  Comments Off on Liv Tyler Reveals How She Got Through Her Divorce

Two of Liv Tyler’s upcoming movies helped her get through her divorce. In The Ledge, she plays a woman trapped in a marriage with an overbearing religious fundamentalist. In Super, she plays a drug addicted stripper. At the Sundance Film Festival where The Ledge played, Tyler revealed her personal connection to these roles.

“It was amazing how they both came about in my life because in the pastcouple years I have gone through quite a lot myself personally,” Tyler said. “In my small lifetime I have, but in these past couple of years particularly. Becoming a mother, having a child, getting divorced, all of those things. I haven’t worked a lot and I was trying to deal with those things in my life and I felt ready to go back to work. I was reading a lot and it just happened that these were the two roles that I felt very moved by and connected to in some way.”

Both roles are pretty harrowing, with Tyler showing herself in some unflattering lights at the characters’ low points. “It was just throwing everything away and not feeling conscious of my ideas about who I am as an actress, as a woman or a person or whatever. I was just going to work and seeing what happens and I just felt very privileged to be able to play those parts because I myself had a lot of complex emotions going on inside of me and experiences.”

By the time the films come out, you may be witnessing the birth of a new Liv Tyler. “Every day is a new beginning to me honestly. Things certainly happen in your life that affect you tremendously. Things don’t go the way you think they are going to go necessarily. It is an awakening, of sorts. As far as making movies goes every time I make a movie I feel like it is the first film that I have ever made in some ways. I really love it, I feel very lucky I get to do something I love so much as my job and that I’ve had a chance to do so many different kinds of films and parts and have experiences.”

Press Articles  •  By  •  Comments Off on Liv Tyler explains ‘girly’ rebellion

The actress-and-model is the daughter of Steven Tyler, who is the frontman in veteran rock group Aerosmith.

He is known for a wild lifestyle and a traditionally alternative dress sense – matching outrageous outfits with his numerous tattoos.

But gorgeous Liv chose to take a more conservative approach to her image, and admits that this decision was made easier thanks to her positive outlook and attractive appearance.

“I’ve always been so girly and feminine. I was born into rock, and I the first thing I saw was tattoos and a pair of leather trousers so I rebelled against that,” the 33-year-old told the British edition of Marie Claire. “I was this tall, curvy female by the time I was 11 so I was confident with whatever look I was projecting.”

She has starred in a range of high-profile films including the Lord of The Rings trilogy, Jersey Girl and Armageddon. Liv admits she is concerned about still landing these types of roles as she gets older, although she is unwilling to make cosmetic alterations just to stay in the limelight.

“I have definitely noticed my face change with age,” she explained. “I haven’t had Botox – I don’t really know a lot about it, but I’m sure once you start you just won’t know where to stop.”
